You can also find wild carrot in Czech literature under the folk name “mrkvous”. It is a very interesting plant, which with its delicate white flowers resembles lace. In the 17th century, lace also found its way into its English name “Queen Anne's lace”. At that time, it was an essential fashion accessory at the court of her husband, the British monarch James I. At that time, ladies wore a mandatory lace cap and competed to see who would have it the most beautiful. As late as the 18th century, this plant was referred to as “living lace”.

You can recognize it by its hairy stem and large white area with an aromatic carrot scent. It was later bred into today's carrot.
